Commentary: Faithfully following the prema filled instructions of the one and only jagad guru by staunchly relinquishing all of the material desires born of contact with sense pleasure from the once swan born mind, the purity of the Vedas or any book on the firmly rooted Godhead teaches of the anarthas or impurities of the human form of existence. Once a leper and cast away from the garden of divine love, now is the time to acquaint your mind with the reality of God’s cosmic vision of union and separation from His internal, marginal and external potencies. Hypocritically engaged in devotional service when fond of the gunas or qualities of an untransformed material nature, the grace that is invoked by way of sadhana or your spiritual practices of praying and bowing down before God, is applicable once the false ego is out of the way of true spiritual progress. Dead until alive to the spirit of Gauranga, material wealth and followers will be the cause and downfall of your pseudo charismatic personality. Attempting to play God by artificially gaining followers and disciples which are not yours to keep, only the Supreme Personhood of Krishna can save you from falling back into the pitfalls of the mind; which are to think that its dictations are real and that the dictations or will of the Absolute is but a joke and nothing more.
O useless and stubborn mind, pay no attention to the Vedic injunctions which are solely concerned about aligning the body and mind with the temporal mode of goodness.
Commentary: Everything that the eye can see and the finger of physicality can touch vanishes with each new coming of a newly formed cosmic nature. Mystic perfections, boons to go and live in the heavenly planets with the captivating demigods and goddesses of fortune, and physical immortality are given to the sincere and devoted in order to test the amount of bhakti that is required for the ending of samsara. By the grace of the Vaishnavas, all of these lesser steps to eternal perfection can be jumped over through the application of the mind to pure devotional service; which is to serve the name of God on the same level of perfection as Radharani’s lotus feet. Grabbing onto Her zeal for God like it is no one’s business, the art of love is totally up to the discriminatory power of the inspired human being willing to give fame and fortune for eternal life in love filled gardens where everyone is happy to be a servant of God.
Instead, pour your heart out to the Deities which are eternally reflected in the mirror of the soul and serve your spiritual master, who is the son of the sons of Lord Chaitanya.
Commentary: Blessed with bodily senses to observe the Deities made of the Lord’s transcendental energies, They are there to comfort the living entity in distress by giving of Their vision to the slowly developing mind of a devotee. Grasping what cannot be grasped by ordinary sense perceptions, the garden of Goloka is the mirror of devotional ecstasy which houses your soul and protects it from all of the contaminations coming through the doors or gates of the five senses and sixth sense of intelligence. Taking lifetimes to perfect this mystic art of arts, love of God is the final destination of those who persevere.
O useless and stubborn mind, if you sincerely want to be an eternal maidservant in the ever increasing glories of Vrindavana’s forests, and if you sincerely want to personally serve Radha Govinda directly, then become accustomed to remembering the sweet steps taken by the Six Gosvamis of Vrindavana.
Commentary: Leaving a spiritual bank account behind for all of humanity which is never empty of riches through the dishonest intentions and practices of the show bottle devotees who think that offending the Lord is a good deed, remember the Lord’s foot steps by meditating on the steps taken by the most magnanimous of spiritualized personalities. Doing so by chanting their glories, a wretched mind becomes sweet just by staying close to the center of everything that is a part of the Inconceivable Oneness of the Lord’s Fundamental Duality.
O useless and stubborn mind, the friends of illusion will only steal and destroy the gem that is in your heart.
Commentary: Esoterically aware of who is your enemy, the greatest thief that be is the one who steals your fire for God realization beyond the comforts of a mundane home. Allowing God to steal your desire to cheat others of their own spiritual forms of wealth, renunciation is only good when it helps remind you of how humility will once again save the day from becoming spoiled and rotten to the core. A friend is he who makes you contemplate the absolute greatness that is Krishna and Krishna Consciousness.
If intelligent, stay away from those who are fond of impersonal liberation, for liberation is nowhere near to the glories of pure love. Lastly, awe and reverence towards the Lord is as lamentable as poor souls who have no devotion.
Commentary: A kind and meek heart says it all. An intelligent heart is often troublesome and hard to decipher. Preferring love over hatred and peace over turbulence, take to the path of pure devotional service and forget about becoming a king or a brahmin or a god for a day. Humbler than a blade of grass, what is there to be liberated from when God is clearly shining in your heart?Stuck between periods of dry miserly chanting and wet and gushy chanting sessions of pure devotional mellows, Gauranga is Radha because of the promise which He made to humanity to invest all of His mercy in His unforgettable names of sweet and rapturous bliss. The fear of God being an impediment to becoming something that is more than just a dry and boring living entity, real life is in chanting Gauranga’s name until the Sun comes down literally and metaphysically.
Worshiping Radha Govinda in the lotus flower of pure mellows, They return to you the gem of pure love that was taken away from your soul with each passing incarnation.
Commentary: Not regretting the day that you were born into this world that is often more dark than it is light, Radha Govinda smile upon you for making the mature decision to return home to Goloka in this lifetime by cherishing the gem of devotion offered to you freely and without charge or penalty.
The greatest deceiver, lust, has bound me by the neck; and all that I can do is cry out to Radha Govinda and beg Them to save me from this powerful rope of selfish misery.
Commentary: Putting an end to a worldly life through the process of untangling yourself from the miseries of being trapped by illusion, the knot in the heart that is hard to undo is due to not taking care of the temple that is your soul. Begging God for one last chance to set things right, a righteous life is one of continuous and unending prayer.
Scorched by the urine of name and fame, may I bathe in the nectar ocean of pure delight. As long as I continue to touch the body of desire for fame, Radha Govinda’s lotus eyes will never touch my helpless soul.
Commentary: Some engaging in devotional service for a better reputation and for the cheapest of gifts that is name and fame, pure love of God is the exact opposite of worldly fortunes that are as impermanent as the breaking of day. Better to head for the hills of permanence and eternity, for there is a Great Soul waiting for you to hear His name.
O lotus eyed one, please smash this wickedness which has overtaken my heart. Transcendental to humanity, my spiritual master will hopefully kick this ball of suffering out of the courtyards of my cluttered mind.
Commentary: Nothing is more worse than a mind that cannot think clearly because of trying to over think the whole situation concerning why the living entity falls down into this particular realm of personified darkness. A cripple minded entity until engrossed in service to the spiritual master, He can work miracles when you pray for a miracle to happen for your endearing guru. Visiting your spiritual master’s hermitage whenever traveling with the spirit of the Name, He is never too far because of your heart being close to God in remembrance of Him.
O useless and stubborn mind, please focus on the union of Radha and Govinda and please learn from Srimati Radharani’s Girlfriends; who are expert in tending to the delicate needs of the Supreme Controller of Krishna’s desire body.
Commentary: The most direct way to Goloka is caring for the pastimes of the Vraja Gopis. Every sentiment that is in Radha’s heart is in Their hearts of gold. Whether deceitful or arrogant or pleasant as They are, whichever mood you adopt is sure to be successful so long as it reflects the purity of Their ecstatic display of devotion. Fanning God, reading to God, and feeding Him nice foods, you cannot go wrong when feeding the soul more than the mind, and when you surpass the need to even be near the Divine Couple Radha Govinda.
More beautiful and greedy for Krishna’s unifying potencies than all of the maidservants of Vrindavana, Srimati Radharani sets every heart on fire with Her good looks and fine mannerisms.
Commentary: The greatest gift of the human form of life is that you have been awarded with the chance to gaze upon the wonderful form of Srimati Radharani. Seeing multiple universes spin around and around within one of Her toenails, She is the Lover which has always set the bar in the game of divine romance. Making it a standard to chant Her name before His, no one can get to Krishna without first faithfully serving the rasa lila dance party. All of the pastimes of Goloka are in Her form since She is the internal potency of the guru, the Vaishnavas, and the Holy Name. Translating into being an eternally fixed up devotee, all perfection is not so important; for the soul who has found Radha has found a jewel that is irreplaceable and is one of a kind in quality and quantity.
Drinking the five nectars of worshiping Them, chanting Their names, meditating on Their form, hearing about Their pastimes together, and bowing before Them, I shall become one of Their friends.
Commentary: Finishing your phenomenal existence through the grace of what is taught to you by the spiritual master, He is more than just a friend because of being the Super Soul within you. Delighted to have eternity to look forward to, love of God is the ultimate reason that you are alive, and bhakti is the reward of living a good life of charity. Opulent without being overly opulent, what else is there to do but to drown in the ocean of bliss that is Radha Govinda’s most cherished of names.
