GOOD AND EVIL IS MENTAL CONCOCTION

By the mercy of Srila Prabhupada, we mean that the distinction between good and evil is simply a mental concoction.

SB 4.9.33

daivīṁ māyām upāśritya
prasupta iva bhinna-dṛk
tapye dvitīye ’py asati
bhrātṛ-bhrātṛvya-hṛd-rujā

Word for word:

daivīm — of the Personality of Godhead; māyām — the illusory energy; upāśritya — taking shelter of; prasuptaḥ — dreaming while asleep; iva — like; bhinna-dṛk — having separated vision; tapye — I lamented; dvitīye — in the illusory energy; api — although; asati — temporary; bhrātṛ — brother; bhrātṛvya — enemy; hṛt — within the heart; rujā — by lamentation.

Translation:

Dhruva Mahārāja lamented: I was under the influence of the illusory energy; being ignorant of the actual facts, I was sleeping on her lap. Under a vision of duality, I saw my brother as my enemy, and falsely I lamented within my heart, thinking, "They are my enemies."

Purport:

Real knowledge is revealed to a devotee only when he comes to the right conclusion about life by the grace of the Lord. Our creation of friends and enemies within this material world is something like dreaming at night. In dreams we create so many things out of various impressions in the subconscious mind, but all such creations are simply temporary and unreal. In the same way, although apparently we are awake in material life, because we have no information of the soul and the Supersoul, we create many friends and enemies simply out of imagination. Śrīla Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī says that within this material world or material consciousness, good and bad are the same. The distinction between good and bad is simply a mental concoction. The actual fact is that all living entities are sons of God, or by-products of His marginal energy. Because of our being contaminated by the modes of material nature, we distinguish one spiritual spark from another. That is also another kind of dreaming. It is stated in the Bhagavad-gītā that those who are actually learned do not make any distinction between a learned scholar, a brāhmaṇa, an elephant, a dog and a caṇḍāla. They do not see in terms of the external body; rather, they see the person as spirit soul. By higher understanding one can know that the material body is nothing but a combination of the five material elements. In that sense also the bodily construction of a human being and that of a demigod are one and the same. From the spiritual point of view we are all spiritual sparks, parts and parcels of the Supreme Spirit, God. Either materially or spiritually we are basically one, but we make friends and enemies as dictated by the illusory energy. Dhruva Mahārāja therefore said, daivīṁ māyām upāśritya: the cause of his bewilderment was his association with the illusory material energy.

Even at the time of death

Even at the time of death, Haripada Dasa BrahmachariBy the mercy of Srila Prabhupada understand and agree that lust or desire to enjoy matter is in the living entity until the moment of death, to illustrate this point Srila Prabhupada always told the story of the Muslim King who asked his prime minister and confidant that even when lust subsides , and the Prime Minister replied that lust is there until the time of death , the king was not satisfied with his answer , and the Prime Minister said that someday I'll show you . One day the Prime Minister told King they see me and bring your beautiful daughter , the King was with her beautiful daughter and entered the house of a dying or a person who was about to leave the body , when they announced that the King entered the dying man took no notice , but when they announced the entrance of the beautiful daughter of the King , the dying immediately wanted to see it , that the King understood everything. In the Bhagavad Gita in chapter 3 verse 43 the solution to overcome lust is given, there is said : "In this way , knowing the transcendental senses , mind and intelligence materials , one must control the lower self by of the higher and so by spiritual strength to conquer this insatiable enemy known as lust . "Ending this post with a beautiful verse of Sri Chaitanya Bhagavata , Madhya Kanda, Chapter 17 : " Such people without faith , sometimes play the role of a " guru " . , Collecting intelligence disciples who have donkeys and foxes These" gurus " ( imbeciles , idiots, jealous and donkeys ) instruct their disciples and they think their " guru " is equivalent to the Supreme Lord Himself . I AM TH WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE

I am the way , the truth and the life, Haripada Dasa BrahmachariIn the Bible in the Gospel of St. John , 14.6 states: " I am the way , the truth and the life , no one comes to the Father but by me." In Guruvastaka or prayers to the spiritual master Srila Visvanatha Chakravarti Thakura says: "The only way to please God or Krishna is indulging his representative the bona fide spiritual master , the result of not pleasing the bona fide spiritual master is that your destination is very dark " . Nowadays there are many bogus gurus or unauthorized people who claim that I am the way, the truth and the life , because of these deceptive mcuh people have lost faith in God and the spiritual life , the result of serving those unauthorized or false gurus is that one goes to hell .Personally I'm glad and happy to see that so many people are already tired to fool them around the world , there are many serious and sincere people who want to know God and love him, who want to live the truth , be free and be happy. Today I was reflecting on the mantra of Srila Prabhupada telling you to come to free us from impersonalism and nihilism , a glorification of Srila Prabhupada to his Gurudeva Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura Prabhupada said qua impersonal fate you 've taken and we 've given love for God or Krishna , the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The biggest problem or disability that we are conditioned souls impersonalism away that we do not issue or experience that I am a spiritual person and God or Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead and my eternal love relationship with God or Krishna is not with matter . We have to take away the fear we have to love God and all living entities , the only way to take away that fear is serving with faith, love, attachment and gratitude to the representative of God or Krishna Srila Prabhupada. All representatives of God, Jesus Christ , Mohammed, Confucius , Srila Prabhupada , so give us a universal message, not a sectarian message, then people driven by their personal and selfish interests distort the message to satisfy your senses and the result of this is they and their followers are all going to hell. No new under the sun and history repeats itself again and again . There is no greater power in the universe that prayer , when a person prays to God and his representative of a serious and sincere way I want to know God and love him, I want to live the truth and be free and happy , do not want mislead anyone nor do I deceive myself , I just want to live the truth , to be free and be happy , then start your good fortune.OM TAT SAT PEACE AND WELL

Srila Uddharana Datta Thakura - Disappearance

Srila Uddharana Datta Thakura - Disappearance

Sri Krsnadasa Kaviraja Goswami has written: "Uddharana Datta Thakura, the eleventh among the twelve cowherd boys, was an exalted devotee of Lord Nityananda Prabhu. He worshiped the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda in all respects." According to Gaura-ganodesa-dipika, "The devotee who was formerly known as Subahu in Vraja, and who was one of the cowherd boys in Vrndavana later appeared in Gaura-lila as Sri Uddharana Datta.

In his translation and commentary on Caitanya Caritamrta (CC Adi 11.41) Sri A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami writes: "Uddharana Datta Thakura, previously known as Sri Uddharana Dattta, was a resident of Saptagrama, which is situated on the bank of the Saraswati River near the Trisbhigha railway station in the district of Hugali. At the time of Uddharana Datta Thakura, Saptagrama was a very big town, encompasing many other placesf such as Vasudeva-pura, Bansabediya, Krsnapura, Nityananda-pura, Sivapura, Sanhanagara and Saptagrama.

"Calcutta was developed under British rule by the influential mercantile community and especially by the suvarna-vanik community who came from Saptagrama to establish their businesses and homes all over Calcutta. They were known as the Saptagrami mercantile community of Calcutta, and most of them belonged to the Mullik and Sil families. More than half of Calcutta belonged to this community, as did Srila Uddharana Datta Thaura. Our paternal family also came from this district and belonged to the same community. The Mulliks of Calcutta are divided into two families, namely, the Sil family and De family whose members, intimately connected with the Mohammedan rules, received the title Mullik.

"In the Caitanya-Bhagavata, Antya Khanda chapter six, it is said that Uddharana Datta was an extremely elevated and liberal Vaisnva. He was born with the right to worship Nityananda Prabhu. It is also stated that Nityananda Prabhu, after staying for some time in Khadadaha, came to Saptagrama and stayed in the house of Uddharana Datta. The suvarna-vanik community to which Uddhaana Datta belonged was actually a Vaisnava community. Its members were bankers and gold merchants (suvarna means "gold" and vanik means "merchant"). Long ago there was a misunderstanding between Balla Sena and the suvarna-vanik community because of the great banker Gauri Sena. Balla Sena was taking loans from Gari Sena and spending money extravagantly, and therefore Gauri Sena stopped supplying money. Balla Sena took revenge by instigating a social conspiracy to make the suvarna-vanik community was again elevated. It is said in the Caitanya Bhagavata, yateka vanika-kula uddharan haite pavitra ha-ila dvidha nahika ihate: there is no doubt that all the community members of the suvarna-vanik society were again purified by Nityananda Prabhu.

In Saptagrama there is still a temple with a six-armed Deity of Sri Caitanya Maharabhu that was personally worshipped by Srila Uddharan Datta Thakura. On the right side of Sri Caitanya Maharabhu is a Deity of Sri Nityananda Prabhu and on the left side, Gadadhara Pandita. There are also a Radha-Govinda murti and salagrama-sila, and below the throne is a picture of Uddharana Datta Thakura. In front of the temple there is now a big hall, and in front of the hall is a Madhavi-lata plant. The temple is in a very shady, cool, and nicely situated location. When we returned from America in 1967, the executive committee members of this temple invited us to visit it, and thus we had the opportunity to visit this temple with some American students. Formerly, in our childhood, we visited this temple with our parents because all the members in the suvarna-vanika community enthusiastically take interest in this temple of Uddharana Datta Thakura. In the Bengali year 1283 one babaji of the name Nitai dasa arranged for a donation of twelve bighas of land for this temple. The management of the temple later deteriorated, but then in 1306, thorugh the cooperation of the famous Balarama Mullik of Hugali, who was a subjudge, and many rich suvarna-vanik community members, the management of the temple improved greatly. Not more than fifty years ago, one of the family members of Uddharan Datta Thakura named Jagamohana Datta established a wooden Deity of Uddharan Datta Thakura in the temple, but that deity is no longer there; at present, a picture of Uddharana Datta is worshiped. It is understood, however, that the wooden Deity of Uddharana Datta was taken away by Sri Madana-mohana Datta and is now being worshiped with a salagrama-sila by Srinatha Datta.

Uddharana Datta Thakura was the manager of the estate of a big Zamindar in Naihati, about one and a half miles north of Katwa. The relics of this royal family are still visble near the Dainhata station. Since Uddharana Datta Thaura was the manager of the estate, it was also known as Uddharana-pura. Uddharana Datta Thakura installed Gaura-Nitai deities that were later brought to the house of the Zamindar, which was known as Vanaoyarirbada. Srila Uddhaana Datta Thaura remained a householder throughout his life. His father's name was Srikara Datta, his mother's name was Bhadravati, and his son's name was Srinivasa Datta.

Vrndavana dasa Thakura writes as follows about Uddharana Thakura in his Caitanya Bhagavata: "After Nityananda Prabhu stayed for many days in Khadadaha, he went to Saptagrama. There is a famous ghata in Saptagrama at the confluence of the three rivers which is celebrated as being the place of the seven rsis. At that ghata on the Ganges the seven rsis had once performed penances in order to attain the lotus feet of Govinda. Three divine goddesses come together at that place: Yamuna, Saraswati, and Jahnavi. These three goddesses of rivers join at the confluence of those three rivers. It is a most holy place within this world. One may be delivered from all his sins just by seeing that place. Nityananda Prabhu was extremely happy to see that place and bathed at that holy place with all the devotees. Uddharana Datta was staying in a temple of the Lord on the banks of that river when Nityananda Prabhu came to the triveni. When he saw Nityananda, he offered his mind, body, and words to the holy feet of Nityananda and worshiped him without any duplicity in his heart. As a result of the mercy of Nityananda Prabhu, Uddharana Datta was qualified by constitution to worship and serve Nityananda. Who can estimate his good fortune. Although he may appear to take birth within this material world, Nityananda is by nature the Supreme Controller, and he remains so every time he descends here. Nityananda is the master, and Uddharana Datta was his servant birth after birth. Uddharana Datta was from the vanik community, and he purified the two divisions of that community by his devotion. Nityananda Prabhu delivered the vanik community by his descent, and gave them the qualifications for prema-bhakti. Practically everyone in Saptagrama was a vanik. The moonlike Nitai-canda frolicked in kirtana within their midst. All the vaniks took shelter at the lotus feet of Nityananda and worshiped him with great ecstasy. Seeing all the vaniks absorbed in krsna-bhajana under the direction of Nityananda Prabhu the whole world was amazed. Indeed the universe itself was astonished to witness the exalted greatness of Nityananda Prabhu who delivered the lowest of men, the foolish and illiterate, and the entire vanika community. In this way, Nityananda Prabhu performed various pastimes of sankirtana in Saptagrama, delivering the inhabitants of Saptagrama as well as hundreds of their descendants within the vanik community. In the same way that the towns and villages of Nadia were filled with happiness when Caitanya and Nitai had performed sankirtana there, Saptagrama was filled with happiness at the pastimes of Nityananda."

After the disappearance of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Sri Nityananda Prabhu's sakti, Sri Jahnava Mata came to Saptagrama and visited the house of Uddharana Datta Thakura. At that time, Uddharana Datta Thakura had already passed away. Uddharana Datta Thakura passed away on the 13th day of the dark moon in the month of Pausa.

Srila Mahesa Pandita - Disappearance

Srila Mahesa Pandita - Disappearance

"He who was previously a very munificent cowherd boy has now appeared as Mahesa Pandita. In ecstatic love, he dances like a madman as though intoxicated to the beat of a kettle drum. [C.C. Adi 11.32]

According to Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika, Mahesa Pandita was formerly Maha-Bahusakha in Krsna-lila. He was a companion of Nityananda Prabhu, and was present at the Danda Mahotsava held at Paninati.

In Bhakti-Ratnakara, Taranga Nine, it is stated that when Narottama dasa Thakura came to visit Khardaha, he had darsana of the lotus feet of Mahesa Pandita.

Vrindavana dasa Thakura has described him as a 'param mahanta' due to the fact that he was very dear to Nityananda Prabhu. [C.B. Antya 5.744]

Mahesa Pandita's original Sripat at Sukh Sagor merged into the bed of the Ganges, but his worshipful deities of Sri Sri Nitai-Gauranga as well as his samadhi were moved to Palpara. There is a railway station there, between Simrali and Cakdaha stations, on the Sealdah-Krsnanagar line.

His disappearance day is on the thirteenth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Pausa.

Srila Devananda Pandita - Disappearance

Srila Devananda Pandita - Disappearance

Sri Devananda Pandit used to live at Kuliya. He was a famous reciter of the Srimad Bhagavatam and many people used to study the Bhagavatam under his guidance.

One afternoon, Srivasa Pandita came to hear Devananda Pandit's recitation of the Bhagavatam. Hundreds of students were seated around the Pandit and some were following his reading in their own personal copies of the manuscript.

Srivasa Pandita was a very advanced devotee and thus, when the sweet nectar of the Bhagavatam entered his ears, his heart became softened in love of God. He started to cry and roll on the ground, his body having become agitated by the waves of ecstatic love.

When the students of Devananda saw this, they thought, "This fellow must be crazy. He is disturbing our hearing of the recitation. Get him out of here." Thus they picked him up and carried him outside. Though Devananda saw all this taking place, he didn't prevent those foolish students of his from committing this offense. As the guru was ignorant, so his students were sinful.

Srivasa said nothing, but simply went to his house feeling very sad. All of this occured before the appearance of Sri Gaurasundara.

During Mahaprabhu's exhibition of His divine position as the Supreme Personality of Godhead for twenty-one hours, He asked Srivasa if he remembered this incident.

One day, when Mahaprabhu was taking a stroll around Nadiyanagara, he came to Mahesvara Visarada Pandit's house. At that time Devananda resided there. Mahaprabhu heard him reciting the Srimad Bhagavatam from outside and became very angry.

"What purport will that rascal explain? Not in any of his births has he understood the meaning of even one verse of the Srimad Bhagavatam. The Bhagavatam is the avatara of Sri Krsna in book form. Devotion is the only subject it teaches. The four Vedas are like yoghurt and the Bhagavatam is like butter. Srila Sukadeva Gosvami did the churning and Maharaja Pariksit ate that butter. Sukadeva Gosvami is very dear to Me. He knows very well that the Srimad Bhagavatam is meant to describe the truth about Me according to My own liking. Whoever sees any difference between Me, My own devotees and the Srimad Bhagavatam simply brings destruction upon himself." [C.B. Mad 21.13]

Mahaprabhu made these statements in a voice loud enough for Devananda to hear. Then He turned to go back to His home. The devotees following Him begged for more mercy. He continued, "All the scriptures state that the Srimad Bhagavatam enunciates the highest realization. Without having understood any of this, simply for the sake of name and fame as a religionist and a scholar, he poses himself as a teacher of this great book. But he doesn't know the purport.

"Only one who has understood that the Srimad Bhagavatam is verily the inconceivable intelligence of the Supreme Lord Himself knows that the only meaning of the Bhagavatam is devotion. In order to understand the book Bhagavata, one has to serve the devotee-Bhagavata."

Devananda could hear all of these remarks from the distance, yet he thought nothing of it.

After some time Gaurasundara accepted sannyasa and went to live at Nilacala. It was then that Devananda at last began to feel some remorse. "Such a great soul, totally imbued with love of God, but I never went even once to have his association."

One day Srila Vakresvara Pandita came to Kuliya to visit the house of one devotee there. In the evening he held a festival of dancing and chanting the Holy Name. Devananda was present on this occasion, and was completely stunned by Sri Vakresvara's effulgence and ecstatic chanting and dancing. As the night progressed more and more, people came to listen to his kirtan until there was finally a huge crowd. Devananda took a cane and began to control the crowd so that Vakresvara's dancing wouldn't be disturbed.

When Vakresvara fainted in ecstatic love, Devananda carefully put his head on his lap and brushed the dust from his body with his own upper cloth. Then he smeared that dust on his own body. That day his service to the devotees had its auspicious beginning.

After some days, Mahaprabhu returned to Bengal to see his mother and the holy Ganges. He also came to Kuliya. At that time thousands upon thousands of people came to have darsana of His lotus feet. All of those who had previously committed offenses against Nimai Pandita by thinking Him to be an ordinary human being now came to seek His forgiveness; Mahaprabhu forgave each and everyone of them. Among those present was Devananda, who fell down on the ground to offer his obeisances to Mahaprabhu. From that moment he became one of the Lord's foremost devotees.

Still, he felt a little hesitant, and thus upon getting up, he stood to one side. Mahaprabhu addressed him, "Because you have served My dear devotee Vakresvara, I am now pleased with you. By that service you have now been able to approach Me. Within Vakresvara's person is Sri Krsna's complete potency. Whoever serves him must receive Krsna's mercy."

Devananda, in a faltering voice replied, "You are the Supreme controller. Simply for the sake of reclaiming fallen souls You have advented Yourself here at Nadiya. I am a sinful wretch and have never served Your lotus feet and thus was cheated of Your causeless mercy for so many years. Oh my Lord, Who resides with in the heart of all living entities, You are Supremely merciful.

Only because You have shown Yourself to me have I been able to see You. O most compassionate One, please instruct me. Let me know the actual purport of the Srimad Bhagavatam."

Mahaprabhu replied, "Now hear Me, O brahmana, and know that the only way to explain the verses of the Bhagavatam is in terms of bhakti. In the beginning, middle and end of the Srimad Bhagavatam there is only one teaching: devotion to Visnu, which is eternally perfect and which is never destroyed or diminished."

"As Krsna's various incarnations such as Matsya and Kurma appear and disappear in this world by Their sweet will, in the same way, the Srimad Bhagavatam is not made or composed by any person. It makes its appearance and disappearance by its own sweet will. Due to the appearance of devotion, the Bhagavatam blossomed forth from Vyasadeva's mouth, by the mercy of Sri Krsna.

"As the truths regarding the Supreme Authority are inconceivable, so are the truths of Srimad Bhagavatam. Many may pretend to know its meaning but they have no real grasp of the evidence the Bhagavatam presents. But whoever who simply remembers the Srimad Bhagavatam while admitting himself to be ignorant can understand the real meaning.

"The Bhagavata, which is saturated with loving devotion for Krsna, is an expansion of Krsna Himself and contains descriptions of His most confidential pastimes." [C.B. Ant. 3.505-516]

"Now you should beg forgiveness by catching hold of Srivasa Pandit's feet. The book Bhagavata and the devotee Bhagavata are not different. If the devotee Bhagavata is merciful to us, then the book Bhagavata manifests its true meaning."

Then Devananda fell at Srivasa Pandita's feet and begged forgiveness. Srivasa embraced him and his offense retreated far away. All the devotees shouted in ecstasy, "Hari bol! Hari bol!"

His disappearance is on the 11th day of the dark fortnight in the month of Pausa.

Devananda Gaudiya Math
In the area where this temple is located is where Sri Caitanya forgave Devananda Pandita for his offenses. Whoever comes here becomes free of all offenses. The Radha-Krishna Deities on the altar are named Radha-Vinod Bihari. There is a Varaha Deity on the left called Kola Varahadeva. In Satya-yuga, Lord Varaha appeared before one of His devotees who lived in Navadvipa, named Vasudeva. He told him how He would advent Himself in Kali-yuga as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Lord Caitanya also showed His Varaha form in this area.
This Math was established by Bhakti Prajnan Kesava Gosvami Maharaja. His samadhi mandir is here. He appeared on January 1, 1898, within Gaura Mandala, in the district of Barisal in Bengal, in the village of Banari Para. Before going to university he would read Bhagavad-gita, Caitanya Caritamrita and Srimad Bhagavatam. In 1915 he took first initiation from Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur. In 1919 on Gaura Purnima he took Vaishnava initiation. He preached in Puri, Allahabad, Assam, Mathura and many other places. He took sannyasa from Srila Sridhar Maharaja in 1941 in Katwa. Soon after this he established this temple. He gave sannyasa to A C Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupada.
How To Get There?
To get here you first go to the town of Navadvipa. You then take a rickshaw. From the boat ghata it takes about 15 minutes. The sign over the gate says Sri Devananda Gaudiya Math. There are statues of two elephants and lions fighting on the gate and devotees with folded hands.

Saphala Ekadasi ki jaya

Saphala Ekadasi

Yudhisthira Maharaj said, "O my Dear Lord Sri Krishna, what is the name of that Ekadasi that occurs during the dark fortnight of the month of Pausha (December-January)?
How is it observed, and which Deity is to be worshipped on that sacred day?
Please narrate these details to me fully, so that I may understand Oh Janardana."

The Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna then replied, "O best of kings, because you desire to hear, I shall fully describe to you the glories of the Pausha-krishna Ekadasi.
"I do not become as pleased by sacrifice or charity as I do by My devotee's observance of a full fast on Ekadasi.
To the best of one's ability, therefore, one should fast on Ekadasi, the day of Lord Hari.
"O Yudhisthira, I urge you to hear with undivided intelligence the glories of Pausha-krishna Ekadasi, which falls on a Dwadasi.
As I explained previously, one should not differentiate among the many Ekadasis.
O king, to benefit humanity at large I shall now describe to you the process of observing Pausha-krishna Ekadasi.

"Pausha-krishna Ekadasi is also known as Saphalaa Ekadasi.
On this sacred day one should worship Lord Narayana, for He is its ruling Deity.
One should do so by follow the previously described method of fasting.
Just as among snakes Shesha-naga is the best, and among birds Garuda is the best, among sacrifices the Ashvamedha-yajna is the best, among rivers Mother Ganges is the best, among gods Lord Vishnu is best, and among two-legged beings the brahmins are the best, so among all fasting days Ekadasi is by far the best.
O foremost of kings who took your birth in the Bharata dynasty, whoever strictly observes Ekadasi becomes very dear to Me and indeed worshipable by Me in every way.
Now please listen as I describe the process for observing Saphalaa Ekadasi.

On Saphalaa Ekadasi My devotee should worship Me by offering Me fresh fruits according to time, place and circumstance, and by meditating on Me as the all-auspicious Supreme Personality of Godhead.
He should offer Me jaambira fruit, pomegranate, betal nuts and leaves, coconut, guava, varieties of nuts, cloves, mangoes, and different kinds of aromatic spices.
He should also offer Me incense and bright ghee lamps, for such an offering of lamps on Saphalaa Ekadasi is especially glorious.
The devotee should try to stay awake the Ekadasi night.

Now please hear with undivided attention as I tell you how much merit one gets if he fasts and remains awake throughout the entire night singing and chanting the glories of Narayana.
O best of kings, there is no sacrifice or pilgrimage that yields merit that is equal to or better than the merit one gains by fasting on this Saphala Ekadasi.
Such fasting - particularly if one can remain awake and alert the entire night long - bestows the same merit upon the faithful devotee as the performance of austerity for five thousand earthly years.
O lion among kings, please hear from Me the glorious history that made this Divine Ekadasi famous.

Once there was a City called Champaavati, which was ruled by the saintly King Mahishmata.
He had four sons, the eldest of whom, Lumpaka, always engaged in all manner of very sinful activities - illicit sexual encounters with the wives of others, gambling, and continual association with known prostitutes.
His evil deeds gradually reduced the wealth of his father, King Mahishmata.

Lumpaka also became very critical of the numerous devas, the empowered universal attendants of the Lord, as well as toward the brahmins, and every day he would go out of his way to blaspheme the Vaishnavas.
At last King Maahishmata, seeing the unrepentant brazen fallen condition of his son, exiled him to the forest.
Out of fear of the king, even compassionate relatives didn't come to Lumpaka's defense, so angry was the king toward his son, and so sinful was this Lumpaka.

"Bewildered in his exile, the fallen and rejected Lumpaka thought to himself, 'My father has sent me away, and even my kinsmen do not raise but a finger in objection. What am I to do now?'
He schemed sinfully and thought, 'I shall sneak back to the city under cover of darkness and plunder its wealth.
During the day I shall stay in the forest, and as night returns, so shall I to the city.'

So thinking, the sinful Lumpaka entered the darkness of the forest.
He killed many animals by day, and by night he stole all manner of valuable items from the city.
The city-dwelling folk apprehended him several times, but out of fear of the king they left him alone.
They thought to themselves that it must have been the accumulated sins of Lumpaka's previous births that had forced him to act in such a way that he lost his royal facilities and became to act so sinfully like a common selfish thief.
"Though a meat-eater, Lumpaka would also eat fruits every day.

He resided under an old banyan tree that unknown to him happened to be very dear to Lord Vasudeva.
Indeed, many worshipped as the demi-god (representative departmental head) of all the trees in the forest.
In due course of time, while Lumpaka was doing so many sinful and condemnable activities, the Saphalaa Ekadasi arrived.
On the eve of the Ekadasi (Dasami) Lumpaka had to pass the entire night without sleep because of severe cold that he felt due to his scanty bedclothes (bedding).

The cold not only robbed him of all peace but almost of his very life.
By the time the sun rose, near dead, his teeth chattering and near comatose.
In fact all that Ekadasi morning, he remained in that stupor and could not awaken out of his near comatose condition.
"When midday of the Saphalaa Ekadasi arrived, the sinful Lumpaka finally came to and managed to rise up from his place under that banyan tree.
But with every step he took, he stumbled and fell to the ground.
Like a lame man, he walked slowly and hesitantly, suffering greatly from hunger and thirst in the midst of the jungle.
So weak was Lumpaka that he couldn't even concentrate to nor muster strength to go and kill even a single animal that whole day.
Instead, he was reduced to collecting whatever fruits had fallen to the ground of their own accord.
By the time he returned to his banyan tree home, the sun had set.

Placing the fruits on the ground next to him (at the base of the sacred banyan tree), Lumpaka began to cry out, 'O, woe is me ! What should I do ?
Dear father, what is to become of me? O Sri Hari, please be merciful to me and accept these fruits as an offering !'
Again he was forced to lie awake the whole night without sleep, but in the meantime the all merciful Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Madhusudana, had become pleased with Lumpaka's humble offering of forest fruits, and He accepted them. Lumpaka had unwittingly observed a full Ekadasi fast, and by the merit he reaped on that day he regained his kingdom with no further obstacles.
"Listen, O Yudhisthira, to what happened to the son of King Maahishmata when but a fragment of the merit spouted up within his heart.
"As the Sun beautifully rose in the sky on the day following Ekadasi, a handsome horse approached Lumpaka as if seeking him out, and stood next to him.

At the same time, a voice suddenly boomed out from the clear blue sky saying, 'This horse is for you, Lumpaka! Mount it and ride swiftly out of this forest to greet you family! O son of King Maahishmata, by the mercy of the Supreme lord Vaasudeva and the strength of the merit you acquired by observing Saphalaa Ekadasi, your kingdom will be returned to you without any further hindrances.
Such is the benefit you have gained by fasting on this most auspicious of days.
Go now, to you father and enjoy your rightful place in the dynasty.'

Upon hearing these celestial words resounding from above, Lumpaka mounted the horse and rode back to the city of Champavati.
By the merit he had accrued by fasting on Saphala Ekadasi, he had become a handsome prince once more and was able to absorb his mind in the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari.
In other words, he had become My pure devotee.

"Lumpaka offered his father, King Mahishmata, his humble obeisances and once more accepted his princely responsibilities.
Seeing his son so decorated with Vaishnava ornaments and tilak (udhvara pundra) King Mahishmata gave him the kingdom, and Lumpaka ruled unopposed for many, many years.
Whenever the Ekadasi came, he worshipped the Supreme Lord Narayana with great devotion.
And by the mercy of Sri Krishna he obtained a beautiful wife and a fine son.
In old age Lumpaka handed his kingdom over to his son - just as his own father, King Maahishmata, had handed it over to him.
Lumpaka then went to the forest to dedicate his concentrate attention to gratefully serve the Supreme Lord with controlled mind and senses.

Purified of all material desires, he left his old material body and returned back to home, back to Godhead, attaining a place near the lotus feet of his worshipful Lord, Sri Krishna.
"O Yudhisthira, one who approaches Me as Lumpaka did will become completely free of lamentation and anxiety.
Indeed, anyone who properly observes this glorious Saphalaa Ekadasi - even unknowingly, like Lumpaka - will become famous in this world.
He will become perfectly liberated at death and return to the spiritual abode of Vaikuntha.
Of this there is no doubt. Moreover, one who simply hears the glories of Saphala Ekadasi obtains the same merit derived by one who performs a Rajasurya-yajna, and at the very least he goes to heaven in his next birth, so where is the loss?"

Thus ends the narration of the glories of Pausha-krishna Ekadasi, or Saphala Ekadasi, from the Bhavishya-uttara Purana.

SIMPLE LIVING ANSD HIGH THINKING

Simple living and high thinking, Haripada Dasa BrahmachariBy the mercy of Srila Prabhupada understand and accept that we are to live a simple life and high thinking happy in this material world and we are preparing to go back home back to Godhead .Simple Living means that we need some clothes , some prasad ( prasad is the mercy of God , food offered to God), and a place to rest . High thinking means thinking about God's representative or Krishna Srila Prabhupada in all the guru- parampara acharyas in the Panca Tattva and Sri Radha Krishna also means thinking in doing good to others, sending positive messages to the people reflect and try to raise their states of consciousness also means giving prasad to others in the program of Food for Life Vrindavan in India and elsewhere , there have been millions and millions of dishes prasada. That is pure spiritual life. Material life is the opposite , it means living to meet the body and mind, and is based on selfishness me and mine and not give any food to the soul, never think of God or do good for others, rather always think as to deceive others .Now worldwide we are celebrating the advent of śaktyāveśa Avatara Jesus Christ would do well to remember the essence of his teachings : "Love God above all things and your neighbor as yourself , do not do to others what you would not like have them do to you, and do unto others as you would have them do to you, if you have two blankets and see that another has no give a blanket to share what you have with others and you will be free of jealousy and selfishness , there is also talk of a Kingdom of God and that the goal of life is to return to the Kingdom of God. " Regarding Christians , Srila Prabhupada said that if Christians worship the Deities and obey the commandment of Jesus Christ you will not kill God or Krishna devotees would be made.OM TAT SAT PEACE AND WELL

SRILA PRABHUPADA GAVE US EVERYTHING

Srila Prabhupada gave us everything , for Haripada Dasa BrahmachariToday I was reflecting on the great sacrifice made by Srila Prabhupada to bring us the incomparable gift of God or Krishna consciousness .Srila Prabhupada gave us everything , gave us his friendship, gave us his love, gave us intelligence, gave his books, gave us the Deities gave the maha - prasada , gave us all the guru- parampara , gave us meaning to life, gave us God or Krishna , gave us hope, gave us a very bright future , gave us the spiritual world, Srila Prabhupada gave us everything and still continues to give us everything. To me it is inconceivable as they could poison Srila Prabhupada , for me it is inconceivable as they could change their Sacred Books , for me it is inconceivable as their own disciples wanted to take Srila Prabhupada ISKCON to get them leaders, for me it is inconceivable as it lay in leading to the world's largest temple to a person who has raped many children , for me it is inconceivable as to Srila Prabhupada make it a single day of Vyasa puja and an unauthorized or false guru will do three days of Vyasa puja, for my is inconceivable as there are people who envy and offend Srila Prabhupada by refusing to obey his instructions and still these people want money and respect of others. There is no other answer to all this to say that's Kali yuga era of Fools, find a balanced today person is so difficult to say find a sane person , to say find a pure devotee of God or Krishna.Once a false or unauthorized guru said every man for himself , a humble person learns from everyone , even his enemies, and a proud person does not learn from anyone.Only people who have sacrificed their lives to please Srila Prabhupada and Srila Prabhupada have served with faith, love , attachment and gratitude to those people only God or Krishna is very pleased with them reveals who is really Srila Prabhupada.OM TAT SAT

THE DIFFERENCES

The differences for Haripada Dasa BrahmachariToday I was reflecting on the differences between the Acharyas or genuine spiritual masters in disciplic succession or representatives of God or Krishna or unauthorized and false gurus.Genuine spiritual teachers or representatives of God or Krishna live in the absolute plane or pure goodness , false or unauthorized gurus live influenced by lower modes of material nature, passion and ignorance.Genuine spiritual teachers or representatives of God or Krishna or Krishna love God and all living entities , false gurus or unauthorized envy genuine spiritual teachers or representatives of God or Krishna , and do not love anyone or themselves.Genuine spiritual teachers or representatives of God or Krishna are very adept at creating a spiritual atmosphere and at the heart of God or Krishna for the good of humanity , false or unauthorized gurus are very adept at exploiting others .Genuine spiritual teachers or representatives of God or Krishna is always considered the servants of God or Krishna and of all humanity , false or unauthorized gurus always think that they are God or Krishna and they all have to serve .Very few people strictly obey the bona fide spiritual masters or guardians of God or Krishna , most people obey the false gurus or unauthorized .Genuine spiritual teachers or representatives of God or Krishna are like moons illuminating the whole sky , false or unauthorized gurus are like deep darkness of the night .Followers of genuine spiritual teachers or representatives of God or Krishna acquire all good qualities , the followers of the false gurus are malicious or unauthorized persons .The result of obeying the instructions of the bona fide spiritual masters or guardians of God or Krishna is that one is qualified to go back home back to Godhead , the result of obeying false or unauthorized gurus is that the person is full envy , fear, prejudice, bigotry and doubts and goes to hell.Thoughts to ponderBy the mercy of Srila Prabhupada understand and agree that the greatest sin there is an unwillingness to surrender to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The result of Srila Prabhupada serve with faith, love , attachment and gratitude is that one becomes free from envy, fear, prejudice, bigotry and doubts.

SB, 4, 31, 21 KI JAYA

SB 4.31.21

na bhajati kumanīṣiṇāṁ sa ijyāṁ
 harir adhanātma-dhana-priyo rasa-jñaḥ
śruta-dhana-kula-karmaṇāṁ madair ye
 vidadhati pāpam akiñcaneṣu satsu
Word for word:
na — never; bhajati — accepts; ku-manīṣiṇām — of persons with a dirty heart; saḥ — He; ijyām — offering; hariḥ — the Supreme Lord; adhana — to those who have no material possessions; ātma-dhana — simply dependent on the Lord; priyaḥ — who is dear; rasa-jñaḥ — who accepts the essence of life; śruta — education; dhana — wealth; kula — aristocracy; karmaṇām — and of fruitive activities; madaiḥ — by pride; ye — all those who; vidadhati — perform; pāpam — disgrace; akiñcaneṣu — without material possessions; satsu — unto the devotees.
Translation:
The Supreme Personality of Godhead becomes very dear to those devotees who have no material possessions but are fully happy in possessing the devotional service of the Lord. Indeed, the Lord relishes the devotional activities of such devotees. Those who are puffed up with material education, wealth, aristocracy and fruitive activity are very proud of possessing material things, and they often deride the devotees. Even if such people offer the Lord worship, the Lord never accepts them.
Purport:
The Supreme Personality of Godhead is dependent on His pure devotees. He does not even accept the offerings of those who are not devotees. A pure devotee is one who feels He does not possess anything material. A devotee is always happy in possessing the devotional service of the Lord. Devotees may sometimes appear materially poor, but because they are spiritually advanced and enriched, they are most dear to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Such devotees are free from attachment to family, society, friendship, children and so on. They abandon affection for all these material possessions and are always happy in possessing the shelter of the lotus feet of the Lord. The Supreme Personality of Godhead understands the position of His devotee. If a person derides a pure devotee, he is never recognized by the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In other words, the Supreme Lord never excuses one who offends a pure devotee. There are many examples of this in history. A great mystic yogī, Durvāsā Muni, offended the great devotee Ambarīṣa Mahārāja. The great sage Durvāsā was to be chastised by the Sudarśana cakra of the Lord. Even though the great mystic directly approached the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he was never excused. Those on the path of liberation should be very careful not to offend a pure devotee.

SRI CHAITANYA BHAGAVATA

With love and trust I share these interesting quotes Madhya Kanda, Chapter 13 , of Sri Chaitanya Bhagavata of Srila Vrndavana Dasa Thakura. If even a meeting of resigning and Vaishnava sannyasis offend or pure devotees of Krishna or God , such a meeting is more irreligious than a bunch of drunks . For drunks there still a chance to save himself , but for those who are critical of the Vaisnavas , there is no hope of release .Anyone who takes the side of a Vaisnava and against another Vaisnava to criticize , is sentenced to die .The worst degradation is certainly reserved for unbelievers.Lord Chaitanya said, " Begin the Kirtana , then this black black veil of sin that surrounds my body I leave and enter into the bodies of those who criticize the pure devotees of God or Krishna ."Lord Chaitanya and Madhai Jagai freed , while the carping and the Vaishnavas offenders pushed the deepest well . You never advancing in spiritual life by finding fault with other Vaisnavas. In fact, only sinful reactions increases, so let all your reviews .Sri Chaitanya released everyone except those who are critical of Vaisnavas and who act against the teachings of the Vedas.Criticize and find fault with the pure devotees of God or Krishna is the most serious offense against the Holy Name , such offenders are annihilated.Thought to ponderSrila Prabhupada in his mercy raised to a very high position falls very many people , these people instead of using those positions to serve Srila Prabhupada , used them for sense gratification , the result of this is that people today are filled envy , fear, bigotry , prejudice and doubt, could have been the luckiest people , but because of him are now the most unfortunate people .

DREAMS

Dreams, for Haripada Dasa Brahmachari
A devotee told me he had a dream ecstatic with Srila Prabhupada, Srila Prabhupada in the dream told him he's like Narada Muni going all the planets traveling preaching God consciousness or Krishna , on planets where the devotees are very close Krishna consciousness expands very quickly , but on this planet Earth not only the devotees are not united but when they see that someone is purer , which has more bhakti or love , which has many spiritual experiences instead of rejoicing it envy , and do this Krishna consciousness will expand more slowly.
Dreams in God and His devotees are present in all the Scriptures of all cultures . By the mercy of Srila Prabhupada understand that dreams are a reflection of what you have done during the day, in chapter one of the book of Krishna is said to have seen gold and mountains , and in our dreams we see a mountain of gold if we combine the two ideas, Srila Prabhupada also said that if during the day meditating on the Deity of Lord Jagannatha at night will dream Lord Jagannatha . When Srila Prabhupada left India was USA in Jaladuta boat in 1965 on the trip had two heart attacks, Srila Prabhupada thought I was going to die, and at night he dreamed that God or Krishna told him not to worry about Himself nothing that would take over the ship, the ship's captain Mr Pandya told Srila Prabhupada that in his 40 years of doing this trip had never had such a smooth ride.
I share a very vivid dream I had with Srila Prabhupada in Vrindavan , the first thing he told me is that Srila Prabhupada was very happy to see that I was practicing Krishna consciousness in an independent manner without belonging to any institution, said he was very sad to see that most of his disciples disobeyed his instructions and envied his position, advised me to be very careful with his disciples assumptions, always advised me to write my spiritual experiences and to share them with others. I asked him to bless me always has one of his books in my hands, either to distribute it to others or to read it.
OM TAT SAT PEACE AND WELL
Thought to ponder
The result of Srila Prabhupada serve with faith, love , attachment and gratitude is that one becomes free from envy, bigotry , fears , prejudices and doubts.

MERCY

Mercy , by Haripada Dasa Brahmachari
By the mercy of Srila Prabhupada understand that justice means balance , everyone has what they deserve , the law of karma , and that mercy is a much higher justice concept , and that mercy means that you are giving something your not you deserve . A merciful person suffers when he sees others suffer and are happy when they see others happy in the consciousness of God or Krishna. Mercy and grace are joined , a very merciful person is very tolerant , for example Jesus Christ envious people asked many offenses, humiliated , beaten and crucified , had to tolerate the intolerable , yet at the same time Jesus was merciful and prayed to God to forgive their offenders because they knew what they were doing , also the great devotee Srila Haridasa Thakura by chanting Hare Krishna Muslims beat him in twenty markets, and the leader of the Muslims said to the executioners if they killed him not kill all their families , and Srila Haridasa Thakura compassion for the perpetrators to not kill their families went into a coma and died , Muslims threw the body of Srila Haridasa Thakura the Ganges river , and when touched water rose and went out the other side chanting Hare Krishna , seeing this the Muslims realized that they had committed a great offense to a holy person was there and threw the lotus feet of Srila Haridasa Thakura to forgive them , here we see a big difference between the Jewish and Muslim race until today Jews have never apologized for all the offenses they did to Jesus , however Muslims once asked Srila Haridasa Thakura pardon for their offenses .
Materialistic people are not merciful or tolerant , to satisfy your taste buds sent every day to slaughter millions of innocent animals , and when at a traffic light turns green and the car behind you it , the man grabs him false ego and leaves the car and they fix fist .
Once a disciple of Srila Prabhupada told him I plan to give him mercy , Srila Prabhupada said, I gave you 80 books of 400 pages each, if you read my books and practice what you read , the result will be Bare your love for God or Krishna will wake up and your human life will be a success , you think this little mercy . The difference between Srila Prabhupada and other gurus is that God or Krishna Srila Prabhupada sent from the spirit world to do a mission on Earth , so it is called jagat -guru or saktyavesa avatara , guru of the universe or the Savior of the world the mission of Srila Prabhupada was giving us his books, he called his spiritual ecstasy meanings , unfortunately many people haMercy , by Haripada Dasa Brahmachari

Moksada Ekadashi ki jaya

Moksada   Ekadashi

This Moksada Ekadashi occures in the waxing moon in the month of November/December.  The glories of this Ekadashi is described in Brahmanda Purana in the conversation between Lord Krishna and Maharaj Yudhistira.

Once Yudhistira asked Lord Krishna, my dear Krishna what is the name of the Ekadashi that occures during the waxing moon in the month of Novembeer/December?  Also please explain to me in details about the procedure for observing this Ekadashi.
?
Lord Krishna Said, o best of the King! This Ekadashi distroys all once sinful reactions.  If one worships the supreme lord with tulasi manjari on this day, the lord becomes extremely pleased.  By observing this ekadashi one achieves the result of performing Bajpeya sacrifice.

There was a King named Vaikanasa lived and ruled in the city of Champaka.  The King was very affectionate towards the citizen. Many qualified brahmanas who were well versed in vedic knowledge lived in his Kingdom.  Oneday the King had a dream that his father was fallen in the hell and was suffering unlimited meseries there.  On seeing this the King became struck with wonder.  The next day the King disclosed the topics of  his dream in the essembly of learned brahamins.  He also informed them that his father has requested to delilver him from the helish condition.  Ever since the King had this dream he became restless.  And he did not feel any happiness or interest in rulling his kingdom.  He even dealt with his family members indifferently.  He thought the life, kingdom, oppulance, power and influence of a son is completly useless if his father is suffering in the hell.  That is why the king pathetically appealed to all the learned brahmins, please tell me the way by which I can deliver my father from the clatches of hell.

On hearing his appeal the brahmins said - O King the ashram of Parvata Muni is situated very near from here.  He is the knower of past, present and future.  You please relate the topics of your dream to him.

After hearing their suggestion King Vaikanasa arrived at the ashram of Paravata Muni accompanied by the brahmins and his subjects.  When Parvata Muni inquired about the well being of his Kingdom King Vaikanasa Said, O my lord, we are all very well by your mercy; but inspite of possessing the kingdom and all appulances I am in a great difficulty.  In fact a doubt has arrisen in my mind and in order to remove that I have come to y our lotus feet.

After hearing the whole incident from the King Parvata Muni sat down in deep meditation.  After a while he gotup from his meditation and said to the King - ‘My dear King your father was very lusty in his previous life hence he has degraded himself in this condition.  Now you oall should observe the vow of Ekadashi which occures during the waxing moon in the month of November/December for the deliverence of your father and donate the accumulated piety to him.  Then by the influence of that peity your father will be relieved from the clutches of hellish life.  After hearing these words from Parvat Muni king returned to his palace surrounded by his entourage.

Thereafter in due course of time the king with his wife, children and servants duly observed this Ekadashi which occures during the waxing moon in the month of November/December and dedicated all its piety to his suffering father.  By the influence of this piety the father attained the heavenly planet and blessed his son very much.

O King, one who properly follows this Moksada Ekadashi certainly relieved from all sinful reactions.

MY FRIENDS

My friends, Haripada Dasa BrahmachariMy best friend is my eternal spiritual master AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada , I have full faith that when he is pleased with my service take me back home back to Godhead . Srila Prabhupada risked her life to give Krishna consciousness , Krishna consciousness means to fix our mind on God or Krishna and give our love, and Srila Prabhupada through his books gave us instructions to do this. The coming of Srila Prabhupada is prophesied in many scriptures such as the Sri Chaitanya Mangala of Lochana Dasa Thakura , that says the Lord Gauranga that in due time send my mor sena pathi , commander in chief of my spiritual forces that spread the chanting of the holy names around the world , I once saw a video of Nostradamus and said to come from the east an elderly person with a cane, and give us the universal religion that will be able to unite all religions , and ran a photo Srila Prabhupada. Could you say my best friend is God or Krishna , for He gives me everything , but I understand that no one can come to God directly , but through His representative, God or Krishna tells Arjuna in the Adi Purana that he who says who is My devotee is not My devotee , but who says that is the devotee of My devotee of My devotee , that is My devotee.MY best friend is the Earth, the Earth is representanción genuine qualities of tolerance and mercy , so many people full of lust , anger, greed , envy, pride and ignorance exploit the Earth, and sometimes unscrupulous politicians send people to war and stained with his blood to Earth. Yet Earth is so merciful that supplies us all so we can live happily , gives us grains, fruits , vegetables , water, etc. .My best friend is the cow , she provides milk that is the miracle food for a good brain, Srila Prabhupada instructed us to take a pint of milk each day , the cow is pure goodness , in India cow unlocks , their excrement is dried and the best fuel there as ashless , is said to reside in the cow all the demigods, the biggest sin in the world is the killing of the cow, Srila Prabhupada says in his books for the killing of innocent animals from time to time have to be wars as karmic reaction . That is crazy that people love their dogs more than their children , even in some countries there are cemeteries for dogs, it is scientifically proven that the dog has at least 40 existing diseases . Srila Prabhupada always said that if you love God you'll love your dog.My best friends are the people that you love and affection transmitted in facebook I have good friends, they make me like and comment and say Hare Krishna , Hari bol , very good, etc. . Sometimes best friends will transmit vibrations from your relatives. This world is all so temporary , all you are going to get to the next life are our activities and experiences , everything else will stay here . I pray to God or Krishna and Srila Prabhupada always send me good friends. Truly my best friends are the people who passed me to Srila Prabhupada and help me to serve Srila Prabhupada.OM TAT SAT PEACE AND WELLhttp://haripadadas.blogspot.comhttp://prabhupadanugas108.blogspot.comhttp://alimentosparalapaz.blogspot.com
