Due to the other potency (āvaraṇātmikā), the conditioned soul feels satisfied even if it is rotting in a body of pig or worm from the excrement. The spell of māyā is so strong that it is very difficult to free a conditioned soul from material bondage. Even if the Supreme Personality of Godhead descends personally to free the conditioned souls, asking them to surrender to Him, they do not accept the Lord's proposal. For that reason, Sanātana Gosvāmī said: "Certainly, a person who, in any way, helps another to free himself from the captivity of māyā, immediately enjoys recognition of the Supreme Personality of Godhead."
