There is a great difference between Vedic rituals and devotional service, one of the 10 offenses against the Holy Name of Krishna is to think that Vedic rituals and devotional service are the same, that is why Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada always said that one who sing only once Krishna has more spiritual value than opening millions of hospitals, one practices Vedic rituals to get riches, riches or money uses it to please his senses and when he is frustrated to see that in the sense gratification there is no true happiness seeks liberation, in those 4 activities, 1 Vedic rituals, 2 get wealth or money, 3 please your senses and 4 seek liberation there is no devotional service, devotional service means occupying everything, our body, mind and intelligence, riches, etc. in the service of God or Krishna and His devotees, that is why the essence of the Gita is that Krishna says that he abandons all types of religions, types of religions means Vedic rituals, Srila Prabhupada in his books says that this is the disease of this age , that people put a stamp and says that I am a Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hare Krishna, etc., but that is pure hypocrisy, nobody practices the teachings of their religion, that is what hypocritical people do and they think I am a pure devotee of God, but the reality is that all those people go to hell for being sinners and deceiving themselves and others.
As it says in the Gita, 7, 28, there it is said that people who have acted piously in this life and in previous lives, and whose sinful actions have been completely eradicated, get rid of the duality of illusion and engage in My service with determination. And in the meaning Srila Prabhupada says that in this verse those who are worthy of being elevated to the transcendental position are mentioned. Those who are sinners, atheists, fools and cheats, it is very difficult to transcend the duality of desire and hatred. Only those who have spent their lives practicing the regulative principles of religion, who have acted in a godly manner and who have conquered sinful reactions, can accept devotional service and gradually rise to pure knowledge of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
Courage! Srila Prabhupada instructed us and said that everyone should follow the example of Jayananda prabhu, all together try to obey this instruction and make Jagat-guru Srila Prabhupada Mahasaya happy and do nothing that displeases him.
