Srila Prabhupada always said that a guru or spiritual master is the authorized representative of God or Krishna or the faithful servant of God or Krishna, in Srimad Bhagavatam, 4, 8, 54 it is said that one should receive initiation from a genuine guru belonging to the disciplic succession and that has been authorized by the spiritual master who preceded him, and in chapter 14 of the Nectar of devotion Srila Prabhupada says that there are people who are not duly authorized and become gurus to have followers and riches, that service does not it is of high degree, those people deceive themselves and others, and in Chaitanya Charitamrita, Madhya-lila, 15, 108 Srila Prabhupada says that as long as we are not initiated by a bona fide spiritual master all our devotional activities are useless, and that person can descend back to the animal species.
Srila Prabhupada's guru ordered Srila Prabhupada to go to Western countries to preach Krishna consciousness, Srila Prabhupada arrived in the USA in 1965, he was 69 years old, in 12 years Srila Prabhupada initiated more than 10,000 disciples, gave him 14 times around the world giving lectures and preaching Krishna consciousness, opened more than 100 temples and agricultural farms, translated from Sanskrit and Bengali into English all the spiritual classics of India, and published 80 books of 400 pages each one, all over the world more than 500 million of his books have been distributed, I share some chronological events about the truth of the guru in Srila Prabhupada's movement, in a conversation on April 22, 1977 Srila Prabhupada said that none of his disciples were Qualified to be a guru, in a conversation on May 28, 1977 Srila Prabhupada said that he would appoint some of his oldest disciples to be ritviks or their representatives and will initiate on his behalf, on July 9, 1977 Srila Prabhupada sent a letter to all his temples saying that from now on his disciples named there should initiate in his name and at the end in his testament Srila Prabhupada said that all his properties and temples should be administered by his disciples, when Srila Prabhupada disincarnated in November 1977 his disciples said that Srila Prabhupada had authorized them to be gurus, so a schism was created, schism means difference of opinions in a group, we that we believe that Srila Prabhupada did not leave anyone as his successor but ordered his disciples to be his representatives and initiate in his name, we can not live with the other group that says that Srila Prabhupada left them as gurus but not what You can show where Srila Prabhupada said that. Thanks to Krishna and Srila Prabhupada that there are some disciples of Srila Prabhupada who are initiating in his name.
