THE TRUTH AS IT IS

Question: Should we always tell the truth as it is?
Srila Prabhupada: Definitely. Boldly tell the truth to everyone, without deceiving anyone.  We have to say that truth is truly beneficial to the living, even if it is not pleasant.  But this is not the same as putting others in anxiety  (bhutodvega). We have to look at reality.  We have to see the good side of people. With great determination we must do what is beneficial for us and others. We work not only for the welfare of the people of this era, but for the eternal benefit of the ages to come.  We must inform everyone about the happy abode of the Lord, the land of infinity, of which going to should not return. Talking about it to others is absolutely necessary to obtain the shelter of the lotus feet of the spiritual master.  Always serve the Sri Gurudeva, who is the giver of transcendental knowledge.  If you live at home we serve with family members.  Maintain the Lord and His devotees in pleasant places, and we shall live in single or in thatched huts.  If we feed the Lord without feeding ourselves, then, definitely, we will receive His mercy.  We should always think: "Everything belongs to the Lord."  Our lives will be successful if we can use everything in His service.  All these concepts have to be preached, but first we follow ourselves.  Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga will not be happy until he can tell the truth without fear.  If I am afraid to tell the truth because it may seem unpleasant objective mean you've left the path of revealed truth and I accepted one that is false, then I am an atheist and a deceiver.
