In the book entitled Amrta-Vani Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati that I have said in English: "Only the person to whom Krishna sends him as our spiritual master is manifested before us as our guru We get a certain spiritual teacher after our fortune. . different people have different mentalities, and the omniscient Lord sends them each a proper spiritual master. There are people who want the full grace of the Lord and is completely dependent on Him for success. These souls please the Lord with his great sincerity. to give them his grace He appears to them personally. for those who crave something different, aspiring to not get their full grace, the Lord sends them through his illusory energy a proper spiritual master mentality. a sincere person never finds it difficult but soon finds a bona fide spiritual master. unless we are pure devotees, or liberated souls, we should have disciples. On the contrary, we must first become authentic disciples taking refuge in a bona fide spiritual master. We escuhar Hari-katha from the lips of such a guru and follow his instructions in practice and humility. Lord Krishna frees the living entities in the form of the spiritual master. The spiritual master is the embodiment of grace of Krishna. The spiritual master, there comes in this world to liberate the living entities from material existence and bring them back to God. Only those fortunate souls who with great longing accept the grace of such a spiritual master are released and go back to the eternal abode of peace.
No matter which one is very knowledgeable and a great thinker, unless refuge on Acharya whose qualities embody the Vaishnava philosophy, can not understand the Vaishnavism. We can understand the Vaishnava philosophy if we have three specific qualities: unconditional surrender, honest inquiry and an attitude of service. Unless we take refuge in the representative of Krishna, the spiritual master, we can not cultivate Krishna consciousness even to please Krishna. By contrast, only we will dance wildly for our personal happiness. If we give up such a mentality and pernicious vanity and serve Krishna under the guidance of guru, we will benefit.
To tune into pure devotional service, without any doubt, we have to know what is our relationship with the Supreme Lord. Only the spiritual master can bestow such knowledge. Therefore, the root of devotional service is incondiconal have faith in the spiritual master. This faith is the fundamental principle on the path of devotional service. Although the spiritual master is considered a insignificangte servant of the Supreme Lord, we must accept him as our only spiritual support to go back to God. He is our eternal benefactor. You can not satisfy Krishna without refuge in the lotus feet of the spiritual master. If we can not be unconditional devotees of the spiritual master, then it will ruin everything and not get the grace of the Lord and His devotees. Finally, we will be disappointed and we will not get the service of the Lord. It is essential to communicate and personally serve the spiritual master. Those who do not wish to serve and associate with their spiritual master are personally bound to fail. Direct communication with the guru is the first step on the path of divine service. If we can not serve the spiritual master we can not serve anyone. The spiritual master is the temple of the Lord trascendenal. The Supreme Lord lives in this temple. Lord Sri Krishna, who is controlled by the love of His devotees, manifests itself in the heart of the spiritual master and the devotees. It is not enough to serve the spiritual master with respect and reverence and in the distance, but we must serve with faith and love. The best example of this is the intimate service paid to Srila Raghunatha dasa Svarupa Damodara Prabhu.
To bestow his grace, my spiritual teacher appears before me in various ways. They are all manifestations of my initiating spiritual master, who teaches transcendental knowledge. If you somehow are fortunate to receive a bona fide spiritual master, the merit is full of Krishna. Through spiritual master, Lord Krishna gives us the blessing of being impassive. Only the lucky get this opportunity. A spiritual teacher appears in the life of a suitable person.
No need to make disciples, but it is a priority for us to be disciples. That is, we must always engage in the service of guru and Krishna. Vaisnavas, devotees of Vishnu, perceive the spiritual master at all. If we fall under the influence of vanity and we consider Vaisnavas, we can not serve the Lord Visnu or Vaisnavas properly. If we do not follow the most skilled but try to get something through personal effort, we will face many problems on the path to success. Also we do not understand the meaning of the scriptures and fall under the influence of mental speculation. It is therefore our duty, shelter of a spiritual master. There is no other way to understand the Absolute Truth unless we are linked to the disciple liniaje. We can not get anything positive if we do not take shelter of the spiritual master. The spiritual master descended from Vaikuntha, or the spiritual world. The Lord sent him to this plane. How can we return to God unless we take refuge and do not associate with the spiritual master? We give up our false ego and we humbly prostrate at his feet.
Only that great personality who has been sent by the Lord from the spiritual world into this world to free condicioandas souls like us, who frees people afflicted by the three types of suffering and sends them back to God, who is very loved by the Supreme Lord and who represents you, and who is the herald of the transcendental subject, it is capable of acting as our spiritual master. The first step is to get the perfect refuge in a bona fide spiritual master. By the grace of God the person obtains a spiritual master according to their personal qualifications. But if we are fortunate and sincerely seek a bona fide spiritual master, and if we pray humbly to the Lord, we get the grace of such a guru, then by God's grace we will get a bona fide guru in this life. Then to retreat into our life will be successful. This is stated in Madhya C.C (19-151, 22-47) in the Adi (1-44, 1-45, 1-47, 1-58).
The spiritual master is not different from Lord Nityananda. By His grace we receive the holy name of Krishna, the initiation into the mantras of Krishna and proper instruction by which we can get the everlasting success. Without the grace of the spiritual master we can not get the grace of Lord Gauranga and Sri Radha-Govinda. Our predecessor Acharya Srila Narottama dasa Thakura, explained that the jiva completes its material condition and gets the love of God when he received the grace of the spiritual master. The spiritual master is our devotional instructor, is an intimate devotee of Sri Gauranga. By serving such a guru our perfection is guaranteed. If we are sincere enough the Lord as Paramatma will lead us to find a pure devotee.
Sometimes the spiritual master we choose, or the person who under our consideration is qualified to be guru, can not be genuine. Only the person who sends us personally Krishna manifested before us as the spiritual master.
A spiritual master instructor instructs the sincere disciple to accept a spiritual master initiator. Therefore, although there may be many instructing spiritual masters, there are no divergent opinions between spiritual teachers and trainers initiating spiritual master, who gives the disciple transcendental knowledge. The initiating spiritual master is located between commander in chief and ordinary soldiers who are represented as instructing spiritual masters. We may have many instructing spiritual masters but the initiator teacher should only be one.
There are three types of spiritual teachers: the guru initiator, guru and instructor Chaitya-guru. The initiating spiritual master gives the disciple trasdendental knowledge of the Absolute Truth. The first spiritual master instructor tells us how dilute the anarthas and then teaches the process of pure devotion. In most cases the initiating spiritual master acts as the spiritual master instructor. A conditioned soul can not act as an initiating spiritual master or a spiritual master instructor. The initiating spiritual master gives the disciple the mantras and the process of bhajana, whereby anarthas are destroyed. The Chaitya-guru gives us the skills to understand the instructions we received from the initiating guru and instructors gurus. We also empowered with the strength to follow these instructions. Without His grace no one can understand the intent of the initiator or instructor master teacher. Lord Sri Gauranga granted only transcendental knowledge and pure devotional service through initiating spiritual master, and protects our pure devotion by sending spiritual teachers instructors and internal spiritual master empowered us with the strength to follow the instructions of the spiritual master ".
