Kali is the Goddess who takes away darkness. She cuts down all impurities, consumes all iniquities, and purifies her devotees with the sincerity of Her Love. Kali Puja is a treasure house of Her wisdom. It contains an abundance of Kali tools for living: Her sattvic, or divine energy, Her Hundred Names, Her Thousand Names, Her Armor, and the mantras for offering bhanga, alcohol, animal sacrifice and how to give birth to spiritual children.In this puja we can worship her according to ancient traditions.Kali is the Black Mother, so-called because of Her radiant dark complexion, which mirrors the infinity of space. She is black because She is the remover of all our own spiritual darkness; the egoistic assertions which mire the brilliant Light of our true Being.Mother Kali dances on the chest of Non-Dual Existence (Shiva) with wildness and ecstasy; Her dance is endless freedom from limitation and convention; Her dance is pure love which accepts nothing short of complete emancipation from ignorance.
