The veracity, by Javier Figuerola or Haripada dasa
In the Bhagavad Gita 10, 4-5 Srila Prabhupada says that truthfulness means that acts must be presented as they are for the benefit of others. Do not misrepresent the facts. According to social conventions, it is said that one can speak the truth only when it pleases others. But that is not truthful. Truth must be spoken frankly, so that others can know what the facts are. If a man is a thief and people are warned that he is a thief, that is the truth. Although sometimes the truth is unpleasant, one must not stop talking about it. Truthfulness requires that facts be presented as they are for the benefit of others. That is the definition of truth. And in 16, 1-3 Srila Prabhupada says that truthfulness means that one should not misrepresent the truth for some personal interest. In the Vedic literature there are some difficult passages, but their meaning or essence must be learned from a genuine spiritual master. That is the process for understanding the Vedas. Śruti means that one must hear authority. One should not elaborate an interpretation for a personal interest. There are many comments that have been made to the Bhagavad-gītā and misinterpret the original text. The true meaning of the word must be presented, and this must be learned from the lips of a genuine spiritual master.
Srila Prabhupada always said that people lie without necessity, and to illustrate the truthful person always set the example of Jesus Christ, the envious people asked him if you are the son of God and Jesus Christ answered yes, and they told him that if you say That we're going to kill you, we're going to crucify you, and Jesus Christ said that I can not change philosophy, I can not stop telling the truth. I conclude this message by sharing a beautiful verse of Srimad Bhagavatam there that Mother Earth can bear all the weights, the weight of the mountains, the weight of the water of the seas and oceans, the weight of the trees, but the Earth can not Bear the weight of a liar.
Thought to meditate:
"The cause of all anxieties is the lack of kindness in people."
