share the meaning of Pañcha Tattva and Maha-mantra Hare Krishna
Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is always accompanied by His plenary expansion Sri Nityananda Prabhu, His incarnation Sri Advaita Prabhu, His internal potency Sri Gadadhara Prabhu, and His marginal potency Srivasa Prabhu. He is in their midst as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. It is necessary to know that Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is always accompanied by these other tattvas. Therefore, our obeisances to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu are complete when we say: sri-krishna-chaitanya prabhu nityananda sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda. As preachers of the Krishna consciousness movement we must first offer our obeisances to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu singing this Pañcha-tattva mantra; then we say Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. When singing the Hare Krishna maha-mantra we can commit ten offenses, which are not taken into account when the Pañcha-tattva mantra is sung, that is, sri-krishna-chaitanya prabhu nityananda sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is known as maha-vadanyavatara, the most magnanimous incarnation, for He never takes into account the offenses of fallen souls. So, to derive the full benefit of the chanting of the maha-mantra (Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare), we first have to take refuge in Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, learn the mantra of Pañcha-tattva and, then, chant the maha-mantra Hare Krishna. That will be very effective.
Hare Krishna Maha-mantra HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE / HARE HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE
MEANING by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
The transcendental vibration that is established by singing Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare is the sublime method of reviving our Krishna consciousness. As spiritual souls, we are all Krishna conscious entities, but the relationship we have since time immemorial with matter has contaminated our consciousness with the material atmosphere. This atmosphere, in which we now live, is called maya, or illusion. Maya means "what is not." And what is illusion? The illusion is that we try to be the lords of material nature, when the reality is that we are subject by the shackles of their strict laws. When a servant tries to artificially imitate his almighty master, that is called illusion. Contaminated by this concept of life, we all try to exploit the resources of material nature, but the reality is that we become increasingly entangled in its complexities. Therefore, despite our arduous struggle to conquer nature, we depend more on it. This illusory struggle against material nature can be stopped immediately if we revive our Krishna consciousness.
Krishna consciousness cultivation is not an artificial imposition that is made on the mind; This consciousness is the original energy of the living entity, which comes alive when we hear the transcendental vibration. And this is the process recommended by the authorities for this era. Also, direct experience allows us to perceive that the song of this maha-mantra, this Great Song for Liberation, can make us feel an immediate transcendental ecstasy that comes from the spiritual plane. And when in fact we are at the level of spiritual understanding, having exceeded the levels of the senses, the mind and the intelligence, we are at the transcendental level. This song of Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare emanates directly from the spiritual plane and this is how this sound vibration overcomes all lower strata of consciousness, that is, the Sensual, mental and intellectual. There is no need, therefore, to understand the language of the mantra, nor do you need mental speculations, or intellectual adjustments of any kind to sing this maha-mantra. The song automatically springs from the spiritual plane, and therefore anyone can participate in it without any previous qualification, and dance with ecstasy. We have seen this in practice. Even a child can participate in the song; Even a dog can do it. Of course, the one who is too entangled in material life takes a little more time to reach the required level, but even man immersed in gross material activities can rise very quickly to the spiritual plane. When a pure devotee of the Lord sings it lovingly, the mantra has maximum efficiency in the listeners; thus, it must be heard from the lips of a pure devotee of the Lord, so that its effects can be obtained immediately. As far as possible, singing from the lips of non-devotees should be avoided. Milk touched by the lips of a snake has poisonous effects.
The word Hara is the way to address the energy of the Lord, and the words Krishna and Rama are ways of addressing the Lord in person. Both Krishna and Rama mean "the supreme pleasure", and Hara is the supreme pleasure energy of the Lord, which in the vocative becomes Hare. The supreme energy of pleasure of the Lord helps us to reach the Lord. Material energy, called maya, is also one of the multiple energies of the Lord. And we, the living entities, are the energy - marginal energy - of the Lord. It is known that living entities are superior to material energy. When the higher energy comes into contact with the lower energy, the situation is incompatible; but when the superior marginal energy comes into contact with the superior energy, called Hara, the living entity is established in its happy normal condition.
These three words, that is, Hare, Krishna and Rama, are the transcendental seeds of maha-mantra. Singing is a spiritual call to the Lord and His inner energy, Hara, to protect the conditioned soul. This song is exactly like the genuine crying of the child for his mother. Mother Hara helps the devotee to obtain the grace of the Supreme Father, Hari or Krishna, and the Lord is revealed to the devotee who sings this mantra sincerely. Therefore, there is no other means of spiritual enlightenment in this age as effective as the chanting of the maha-mantra: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.
